Open Mind Portraits – How to and Why video.
This is a short informational video about the Open Mind Portrait method and how to apply it in the classroom for effective practice and assessment of reading and writing comprehension. This video was created for EDLL3100, a course in Language and Learning at Thompson Rivers University 2021.
I have chosen to share this project as a sample of my coursework as it demonstrates my ability to strongly conceptualize and apply existing methodology while also thinking creatively about the many directions one method can extend into my other teachings. I love to gain inspiration from tried and true methods while also reworking them to suit students needs and current objectives when appropriate.
