Eleven of the 94 Calls to Action as stated in the Truth and Reconciliation Commission of Canada fall under the subset of Education and 4 fall under Education and Reconciliation. However,  if one considers the breadth of the B.C. Curriculum and contrasts this consideration with the TRC as a whole, it becomes glaringly obvious that all 94 Calls to Action can be connected to education with ease. Child welfare, health, language and culture, justice, museums and archives, youth programs, commemoration, media, sports. As teachers, we must consider the reach of our positions of power. Our teachings do not stay within the realm of public school buildings. Education has lasting implications across our communities and it is for this reason that I feel a personal obligation to examine all subsets of the TRC in my work.
